to apply
Membership application to the Society must be
made by completing the Membership Application Form.
The membership form
Please complete and return the Membership
Application Form to the Membership Department, The British
Pain Society, Third Floor, Churchill House, 35 Red Lion Square,
London WC1R 4SG.
Membership applications must either be signed
by two existing BPS members, or applicants may submit a CV
along with two letters of support from peers/colleagues.
We require your first
year's fee to be paid by cheque or credit/debit card.
In order to help reduce the administrative costs of the Society,
we actively encourage members to pay subsequent annual subscription
fees by direct debit. Click

In addition to personal details, the membership
application must include details of:
- Professional qualifications
- Support for Application
- Employment
- Payment method
Any sections left blank or completed incorrectly
will delay your application.

The Membership Application Process
Once you have returned your form by post to the Secretariat, the
application will be sent to the Honorary Secretary who will check
that your appliation meets with the requirements of the Memorandum
and Articles of Association and Regulations of the Society. At this
stage, you will be granted provisional membership and your details
will then be added to our database.
Your application will then be formally ratified
by the British Pain Society Council at the next Council meeting.
